Cake Masterclasses

Here is our class schedule for Winter 2013/2014. All classes are in small groups of no more than six students with Caryn and her team. As well as being a professional wedding cake designer Caryn is also an experienced teacher who will offer dedicated one-to-one contact time throughout the sessions to ensure that you reach your full potential. Classes are held in our teaching studio in Solihull in a friendly environment with refreshments included, and lunch for full day classes. Classes are available to suit all levels of experience, so please call Caryn for advice on the right course for you. All materials and equipment are provided, so just bring yourself!

Class Details

Sugar Roses - 1 day - £125

Learn how to make our signature natural roses. You will learn how to make a bud, full rose, half rose and rose leaves, as well as the more stylised cupcake roses. You will work with cutters and veiners and learn how to dust your roses and be shown how to wire your roses and leaves to achieve that realistic garden look. Whole day 10.00-16.30 including lunch and drinks throughout the day.

Flower masterclass - 2 days - £250

On this intensive flower making class you will learn how to make roses, cala lillies, a peony, wired hydrangeas and blossoms. You will also make foliage to complement your flowers. You will be provide with a pre-iced dummy and shown how to assemble a floral display with your completed pieces.

Three-tier wedding cake - 2 days - £250

You will learn how to prepare your cakes to a professional standard: levelling, layering, masking and icing with sugarpaste. Dowelling and stacking. You will also learn how to make roses and pipe a dropped pearl pattern with royal icing.

Royal Icing Masterclass - 1 day - £125

On this course you will learn how to work with royal icing to pipe beautiful decorative borders and pearls as well as techniques such as brush embroidery and stencilling.

Vintage Wedding Cupcakes - 1 day - £95

Learn how to decorate designer boutique cupcakes. You will decorate 6 cupcakes using stencilling techniques, royal iced piping, as well as learning how to make cupcake roses, blossoms and bows.

Christmas modelling - 1 day - £125

Get ready for Christmas! Learn how to cover your fruit cake with marzipan and icing and decorate with a snowman, Father Christmas and penguin figures. Course price includes a 6-inch fruit cake.
